Martial Arts

They are n longer in business

I have never trained in jujitsu or jkd before, dabbled in karate as most kids have. I've always wanted to take mma classes and did a extensive amount of research in finding which gym i would join. Battleground sports was the first and really only gym that featured the martial arts training i wish to master. Owner and head jujitsu instructor joao vieira, black belt under world champion Wellington "megaton" Dias is a brilliant instructor who keeps the traditions of jujitsu close at heart, while maintaining a delightful no bs attitude that will tune your game to perfection. An amazing excuse for me to take the 30 min drive to the gym each day was the incredible jeet kune do class, Bruce Lee's personally developed fighting style. Shahram Moosavi one of the very few people in the world to be certified senior full instructor by Paul Vunak with direct lineage to bruce lee. This gym will give you the absolute best overall stand up and ground game you need, with plenty of great sparring partners. I left after my 2 week trial that included my own gi for only $50, because of the trip to and from the gym but after trying a few gyms in my area i know i will be returning soon because the others aren't really doing the trick for me. I look forward to sparring with you soon!!

This is a great place to learn self discipline for both children and adults!

Very family oriented atmosphere everyone is very welcoming and willing to help you no matter your experience level

Love this place!!! Thanks for making me feel welcome!

ATA Anthem martial arts is amazing! After sitting and watching my children practice martial arts for a year I decided to get involved too. One of the best things I have done for my adult self! Not only do I get to bond with my kids, I get physically and mentally challenged in every class. Master Llacuna is incredible, patient, and beyond skilled. The environment that the Llacuna’s have created for their studio allows you to challenge yourself past what you could have ever imagined you could do, in a fun and motivating way. Who would of thought that after age 40 I would be breaking boards, using nun chucks and gearing up to spar? Our family loves ATA Anthem.

Great atmosphere, friendly, experienced instructors and fun training partners. Would fully recommend anyone to go check it out! Was passing thru Phoenix and got in touch with a few BJJ schools in the N Phoenix area. Mike was by far the most welcoming and more than happy for me to drop in and train. The club has a good clean dojo, a range of experience levels and an honest, friendly vibe. Mike’s training philosophy is on show in the name of the academy and the way he runs the club. He and the club embodies the spirit of BJJ. This means he respects the past but is open to new ideas and new people to let the art evolve according to what works rather than what tradition tells us. This is what sets BJJ apart from arts more constrained by form and tradition. Training is at the pace you want, whether that’s full on competition or a lighter technical skills work-out. Awesome club, awesome guy... head there and train!

Great place, friendly staff, fun classes

I have been training here for over 6 years and it has changed my life. I have gone from being timid and scared to strong and powerful. Jason sensei is the best instructor to have in your martial arts journey. He is attuned to each student's needs. He knows when to push you and when you need more time to process. I would highly recommended this dojo to anyone looking to change their life for the better.

Sensei James pours himself into his students. He helps develope character and strength by using martial arts as his tool. He is knowledgeable and a capable instructor that will guide his students through the ranks developing blackbelts of akill and integrity

My kids and I trained at Paradise Valley School of Karate for many years. My son and I earned black belts and my daughter earned brown. Sensei Mike Wall is an outstanding teacher. We all learned so much and had a lot of fun. Sensei Wall can teach adults and excels at teaching kids. I strongly recommend PVSK and Sensei wall to everyone. Truly one of the best dojos in town. Regardless of your age or your martial arts goals Sensei Wall is outstanding!

Great instructors & a family environment! My son has been with SFK for more than 1/2 his life (he's almost 10 :-)) and we all love it!!
