Martial Arts

Been going here for just over a month and I am always looking forward to my next class. It's such a warm atmosphere, and you can tell all the teachers love to be there and help others learn the art forum. I was a bit apprehensive at first being 33 and hadn't taken a karate class in my life, but everyone makes you feel right at home. I can't say enough good things about this place

I love it so much

Amazing and really well taught class. The instructor tyler pyne has a real passion for teaching individual's (kids and adults alike) not only self defense, but discipline, confidence, exercises and a way to stay in shape and have fun while learning at the same time! He has managed to keep the place running for years and continues to put all his effort into making each and every class count! Its a non profit class, so you know Sensei tyler does it out of sheer will, the goodness of his heart and the desire to help people! I speak through experiance as ive learned quite a bit over the years having tyler as my mentor. Ive looked up to him for a long time and cant thank him enough for everything that he does! If your looking for a great way to learn martial arts , get a good workout as well as many other important things while having fun, this is the place for you! Highly recommend bushido. Keep it up Sensei!!! And thank you!!

I think it's the best judo club, or at least the most inviting.

I joined Chunhwa Yoga & Tai Chi in February 2016. I go to the Carling Avenue location 4 times a week. I find that I am starting to sleep, breath, meditate and function better. I've noticed that after a month of going regularly that I have an easier time getting out of bed in the morning. My flexibility is getting better by the day. The instructors and the people that attend are amazing and I just love being part of the center. It truly is a happy place to be.

Very well run by kind, considerate and knowledgeable people. I always look forward to going there.

I trained with Sensei Don Ritter for the better part of a decade, and when it came time for my young children to explore karate, there was no other choice in my mind than to send them to Don. The children’s program at Don Ritter’s Karate and Fitness has always been exemplary. There is always a balance of taking the time to explain things clearly with an assertive approach without being intimidating. Laughter and fun are balanced with discipline; merit-based progression balanced against teaching that difficult things are worth the hard work. The consistent outcome, in both the children that I watched when I was training, and in my own, is that his students learn resiliency, develop self-esteem, become more self-aware, respectful and determined. Don provides a fun, engaging and most importantly positive environment in which his students blossom, and I would not hesitate to recommend his studio for children of any age or ability level. Don is a world-class athlete, coach and teacher who can balance traditional Japanese martial discipline with modern teaching techniques in a way that really has a lasting and positive impact. I dragged my kids to their first lesson, but they dragged me back every class after that. Omar Petralis

Incredible gym filled with great trainers, students and staff. Highly recommend to anyone looking to get fit or become a champion.

I tried my first couple of classes & I signed up right away. They have a smaller group which is good because you get much more one-on-one training time with the instructors & they have more time to pay attention to you. They have the lowest prices in Toronto, but their classes are very good! Check it out & you'll love it! It's a very friendly environment & the instructors are very experiences and technical. Also we have purple/brown belts as well as black belts visit us often. It's a good experience.

You won’t find a better place to train BJJ in the city. Instructors are great, students are friendly and welcoming.

My daughter has been here since she was seven, and I've seen her confidence in moving and challenging herself go through the roof. Every class is energetic and positive! The kids get a variety of self-defence, coordination, and focus-related skills. There are exercises and goals for each student, as well as the whole group working together. The self-esteem and practical physical skills my daughter gets from hands-on martial arts carries over to everything she does.

My kids love practicing with you! Couldn't ask for better!
