We stopped into The Mission Mission Beach when we were looking for a quick breakfast on our way to Sea World. I saw a quick review that said it was an unexpected find in Mission Beach. We parked across the street (paid parking, I think it was $5) Breakfast was delicious and the coffee was great! We were there with our 3 year old and it was very kid friendly. It was the perfect laid back atmosphere. It was hard to choose what to order because everything sounded delicious! It was also a quick two minute walk to the beach. Perfect way to start the day. Would highly recommend! Sandi and Rich Langtry

So there are 2 oscars locations - the original whole in the wall on Turquoise St where you have to eat on the sidewalk, and the new place with room to sit near the beach. Both are awesome - but somehow the one sitting on the sidewalk seems so authentic I prefer it! Spectacular fish tacos (though the selection isn't huge) paired with awesome sauces. I send tourists here for an authentic SD experience.

First of all, love the old school neon signage and interior vibe. Steaks were very good as were the sides. Nice wine selection. Courteous service. Worth checking out.

Chef Andrew & Raechel are a dream team! I did the four course tasting menu and everything was out of this world. This is a must if you are in the area. Raechel's service was fun and impeccable. She made me feel welcome, we shared some laughs and the entire experience was fantastic. Chef Andrew has a clear passion for his food and hand delivered each course to the table with an explanation of what it was. My taste buds were thrilled. I did the wine pairing with each course and had a great compliment to each course of white and red. This is my second visit to this restaurant and will be on my list for every visit to San Diego. Keep up the great work Tidal!

Delicious menu consisting of fresh farm to table ingredients. The latest addition are poke bowls served over reasoned rice, and lamb osso bucco, which is tender and full of flavour. I am a long time fan of the original location, but this has more seating, a hybrid of indoor/outdoor of sorts, created by the overhead heaters.

Fun and interesting take on Italian sandwiches. One of the more unique foods I've had in SD in my 6 months of being here. Good selection of craft beer. Go on a Tuesday and take advantage of the decent beer prices plus a free side of bread sticks with each beer. Recommended.

Spice & Soul Kitchen + Tap

Spice & Soul is a neat little restaurant that's off the uber-crowded beaten paths. We found ourselves there after being unable to find parking in Little Italy. We had wanted pizza, but the pizza place across the street was closed, so Spice & Soul would have to do. We ordered a trio of appetizers: the tri-tip flat bread, the clucks and fries, and the hot mess fries. The flat bread was fresh and light with a pesto aioli alongside mozzarella serving to cut the heaviness of the tri-tip. The clucks and fries were... Well, they were definitely chicken fingers and fries. Nothing much exciting there, though they were tasty. The plate that stole the show for me was the hot mess fries. I had wanted it with brisket, but they were out, so I got pork instead. The fries came topped with mountains of meat and cheese. The pork was tender and smoked to perfection. Fantastic! Spice & Soul gets a 4/5 with me. There was nothing objectionable about their food, but I found it all to lack dimension. I loved the hot mess fries, but it was still missing a little bit of zing or pizzazz to me, and the rest of the food was fine, but not great. Absolutely check this place out if you're into craft beers, of which there are many, or if you're looking for some great smoked pork. Enjoy!
