Horrible conditions, roaches, nurses not paying attention to the residents there.

I have family who lives in this neighborhood and its unbelievable what they go through with this facility there. This is a BEAUTIFUL neighborhood, and this place is destroying the neighborhood with drugs and garbage, verbal abuse, destroying neighbors property. There are elderly people and schools with young children around which they have NO respect or consideration for. Between this dump and the mission this historic neighborhood is losing its glamor and value residents are afraid to sit on their porches without being harassed. I understand they need a place to go..but it should NOT be in a residential area. Such a shame for these people who have lived in this beautiful area for 50+ years.

My mother loved her respite care here. We tried something closer to home, but this was the place she was happiest for weekend care. Even though each stay was brief, she was made welcome.

Disgusting and very dirty feel awful for anyone who has to live there or work there!

I am quite familiar with most retirement residences in Ottawa and Bridlewood Trails is the best retirement residence by far. They have a very different philosophy of truly respecting every resident's individuality and cater to their needs and desires. They stand out with their transparency and open communication. All of the staff are highly trained and have the vocation to care for the residents which makes Bridlewood Trails feel like home. My father-in-law loved it there until his passing last month. My husband and I visited often and are still welcome there to visit everyone.

The PSWs are terrific but the office staff don't care. They do not answer the phone and when messages are left they do not relay them to coordinator which I found out doesn't care either. I have now told them 6 times the contact information they have is wrong.

The workers are professional and truly care about my mother. They are conscientious, reliable and often make helpful suggestions.

This place is disgusting. Flu outbreaks. Never seen people treated with such disrespect and little care. They do not even deserve this one star. This "home" should be shut down. 100 patients to one worker is NOT okay. The workers are too stressed out to provide proper care and people are falling through the cracks - it is no way to live. A resident told the nurses about their desire to commit suicide to which they responded they do not have time to deal with this. In the process of having these and at least a dozen other issues be addressed legally. Your loved ones deserve better than this place!

I can't imagine better care for my Mom. Since moving to the Courtyards 6 months ago, her quality of life has improved and so has her physical strength and memory! My Mom is so much happier at The Courtyards and I think it has everything to do with the caring staff, the daily activity programming which includes a lot of visiting musicians, and the healthy meals served in small dining rooms so as not to overwhelm. I didn't see it at the time, but when she lived at home there wasn't enough stimulation or excerise. I can sleep at night knowing that my Mom has such great care.

I would recommend a stay at Chartwell Kanata to fiends or family. My story I am a 70 year old male, who experienced a non-weight bearing break in my ankle in the fall of 2016. I need a place to stay will I recovered. Chartwell Kanata had a respite space available. I made the decision out of need to spend 47 days at the Chartwell home. In reflection of my stay, I enjoyed the friendly, helpful staff during my recovery. The other residents were very excepting and willing to include a “newbie” like me in all their daily actives. During my stay at Chartwell Kanata, I have gained a better understanding of the retirement home atmosphere and social dynamics. This experience will allow me to make an informed decision in the future, as I age and my living needs change.

My grandmother lived here when she was alive, I basically grew up here. Haven't been there since 2010 but I know the management is great! It's a great place. Have so much respect and love for this place I'm glad it's still up and running! Unfortunately my grandmother died and this was her final home and she loved it here! Home sweet home
