My husband & I enjoyed a lovely weekend visiting my mother who now resides at Kelso. She jokingly calls it 'the villanous villa', but it is exactly the opposite, the loving, upbeat, well-appointed residence for many dear senior citizens who need assistance with the tasks of daily living. The spirit of hospitality & good cheer is evident the minute one walks in the door of the big foyer. We saw our mother being attended to at meals, at getting up time, at finding places that she had "forgotten", by a large group of well-trained, kind & cheerful people who know all the residents by name. I am very grateful to have found a place like Kelso for my mother to call "home" in these last few years. my nana and papa are there but when my nana moved in before my papa did and we did not think it was a great idea until the next time we saw how caring and kind full the workers are, we also saw there great activities there like bingo, tuck shop and lot's more. Also, one of the workers have a friendly dog so they bring it in for the residents.The workers are there to help when needed and the workers are awesome, kind, they laugh and they smile. They keep the residents nice and clean.The tuck shop is free but donations are excepted and the tuck shop is food like cookies and drinks like tea or coffee. This one lady always decorates the building days before and on the holidays and example is Easter they have bunny's. The food there is great because they have turkey and lasagna and others and the drinks there are great because they have apple juice, ginger ale and others In conclusion, that this place is the best because they are caring, respectful, kind and awesome!!!!! I love this place and so will you!!!!

Visited my family member found it to be cluttered and the staff were not welcoming.

Hi it's nice Retired home it's nice clean it's like home.

Do not leave your parent there...the care was extremely poor...it actually was a nightmare...my heart hurts. If your parents are there please be vigilant...visit at different times...they should not know your scheduled visits.

They take great care of my mom there.

My family and I contracted Home Instead to provide additional care and companionship for my mother when she was in Long Term Care. I was extremely happy with the service as we retained the same caregiver for over three years. The care my mother received was exemplary and she called the caregiver "her good friend". The caregiver was a tremendous support to my mother and to me and my family as the caregiver was a scheduled companion for my mom which allowed for my mother to enjoy additional activities in the LTC home which she would not have been able to access without the caregiver. Home Instead is a worthy recipient of the Integrity Award for 2018.
