Friendly staff and atmosphere, we heard nothing but great things about the change with food and the way feels when you walk in the door. Made my aunt very happy to transition from living at home to living in a small community.

Not organized. My father received care through this service three times a week for one hour each. He is supposed to have a walk or exercise as well as shower and shave. I get calls last minute cancellation at times there has been no coverage for a full week. The lack of care and compassion the head office has is astounding.
Thank goodness my father has me but I think about all the other people that are alone and have no one to help them and they just get canceled on last minute.. would not recommend.

My parents were residents for ten years at Marina Point both in the independent living section and in the assisted living section. They were among the first to live there. They never complained and only praised the facility and the staff. After moving into the assisted living section their praise never waned. On my own visits there I found the place to be an excellent environment for them -- excellent location, very good care and I knew they were safe. After dad's death Mom stayed on for about year but her dementia was becoming more pronounced and an assessment was made and it was determined that she needed to go elsewhere for care. We went to Cassellholme -- that was a good choice too. But, I don't fault Marina Point for "screening" or assessing potential residents. They have a high standard of care that they can offer and persons with greater needs they just can't accommodate. They can't give the care to a person who needs care beyond which they can reliably offer. I was sorry Mom had to leave Marina Point...but they could'nt give her the care she needed and would need as time progressed.
But, I applaud Marina Point for the care and safety they provide to their residents. Someday, I might be there.

My husband passed away October 19, 2017. One month to the day I was required to call Wayne Heubner to see why his associate has not come to my home to do the required paperwork. He had totally forgotten about us. Three months later still no Urn for my husbands ashes. Very poor treatment. As this is such a difficult time for us we believed that the treatment should have been much better. Mr. Heubner charged for services not carried out, and he has now removed my husband "s Obituary from his site and also all of the condolences have been removed. I sent email asking why all had been removed and to date no reply. I cancelled my arrangements as I do not wish my family to go through the hardship that I was subjected too.

My father-in-law was there for several years, until he passed in 2014, and had excellent care. The facility was very clean, staff was friendly and very accommodating. Good meals and plenty of snacks and drinks, second and third helpings if the gentlemen wanted it. Lots of entertainment. Have experienced other relatives in long-term care and have to rate this home as the best I have seen to date.

I have been to the clinic several times now (for different reasons) and have always been treated in a helpful and professional manner. I am diabetic and last time I went to Glenda for a foot treatment. I am getting old and my obesity and neuropathy makes it hard for me to work on my feet. She cleaned and trimmed and treated my skin and gave me advice on foot care. I will definitely go back for a periodic checkup

Cassellholme
400 Olive St W, North Bay, Ontario, P1B 6J4, Canada
this place is terrible. They treat their staff in the most disgusting manner and fire the most caring staff because they disagree with the way they are being treated. Would never send my family here. They should learn to treat the people who work here with respect and they should be ashamed for the way they run this place. Everyone needs a job to live and Cassellholme simply does not care about the wellbeing and lives of others, just keeping their good standing with the MOHLTC. Disgusting.

We moved my 92 year old father to Barclay House in North Bay 10 months after my Mom passed away. We did not want to move him there as none of us 6 children lived in North Bay anymore but that is where Mom was buried and he wanted to move back. It was the BEST thing we cold have done. He was in a larger retirement facility with not enough time for the staff to get to know everyone. From the minute we walked in everyone greeted us and knew my Dad's name. The GM Marisa Zarifa and the Health and Wellness Manager, Leah-Anne Chirico are never too busy to help out with the smallest things. So simple as going to my Dad's room to hang up his phone when he forgets to. My Dad raves about the food every day and we know how important food is when you get older. All the staff is fantastic and I believe because it is a smaller place (65 residents) they have time to really care. Whenever I call I am always greeted with a cheerful person and nothing is ever too much trouble. If you are worried about whether or not you should put your loved one in Barclay House, I would not hesitate it is a fantastic place with fantastic staff!!!
