Dale in the mortgage department is awesome. That's where the good stops. Rick Chhabra however needs some serious customer care training. We were on a tight deadline to get some funds and Rick dissapeared for a entire week. After getting his manager involved, He then no showed for our meeting and didnt have the courtesy to cancel the appointment. He made us jump through numerous hoops to get a small extension on our homeline mortgage. Then when it came to sign the paperwork, he dropped in some hidden fees we weren't told about for a house assessment that THEY needed. Needless to say, we backed out of the deal as even the bank manager Jason wouldn't do anything to make it right. So they ended up paying the hidden fees and got zero interested from me. I'm a 30 year RBC client and am looking elsewhere for my banking needs.

Finally a broker who delivered results. The past 6 years all I could get was a 1 year mortgage over 5%. I was tired of renewing every year with a new broker. Self employed makes it difficult to finance. Dean Moro got me a 3 year 4.1%. Took out 95k in equity and still have a lower payment. Thank You Dean, for all your hard work and patience in securing this mortgage.

HSBC... you can do good an bad things... the staff is nice, but if you have an unusual demand / issue, they will not be able to help you.

Just went in and asked for a roll of quarters. They refused to sell them to me because I didn't have an account there. Really?!! Every other bank I've used has been quite willing. (I have a steady need for quarters to feed the laundry machine in my apartment.) Isn't it part of the public contract. We let them make massive profits in exchange for some small public services like providing rolls of coins.

Beware the VALUE FLEX mortgage! Can't refinance with anyone else until you sell your home or the end of the mortgage term. When I tried to refinance with another lender, MCAP just kept ignoring the payout statement requests instead of responding and providing an explanation as to why there wouldn't be a payout statement. Once our term is up, I will NEVER use MCAP again.

I came by to this branch yesterday for help with getting some foreign currency. I was brushed off by Asian clerk saying that I should do that through my online banking. I've already waited in line a while and asked her to assist since I was already there and had never done it before. She still sent me off. Funny enough but a few days prior another clerk offered me assistance with ordering the currency. Is that service inconsistency? Maybe! But looks like someone is not doing the job they're paid for. Not cool, RBC!!!
