Optometrist

I made a phone call and then quick drop in visit to this store. I wanted to donate 3 pairs of old glasses towards charity. They were pleasant on the phone and in store and were happy to take them, even though they weren't purchased from them. The store was bright and open and they had 2 associates available for customer service. I would consider for my next pair of glasses. Also accessible location right on Robson street downtown.

Friendly staff. They made me feel welcomed. I would recommend EyeCandy to anyone.

The most detailed and high-tech eye exam ever! Dr. Knight is very thorough and knowledgeable. Very honest. Very professional. The best optometrists I have ever been to.

Had an appt scheduled with Dr. Lee for tomorrow, which was scheduled weeks ago. They called to confirm this morning, and then called me back at 5 pm to say that they had realised the Dr didn't start until 1 and they needed to move my appt to later in the day, which I could not do, so they said they would have to reschedule me. I opted to find a new optometrist. ***I amended this to 2 stars as Dr. Lee called me herself this morning to say that she'd stay late if that's what it took to get me in today, which I appreciated even though I've already made a new appt elsewhere. Too late, I'm afraid.***

As good as it gets in customer service! Outstanding from the moment I entered the store. Smiles, friendly greeting, an obvious willingness to provide the very best experience for their customers. This wonderful family-run business has been in this location on Davie Street for 28 years now. Longevity like that isn't an easy achievement in this world of skyrocketing rents and fickle customers, but Abasa's exceptional service, products and knowledge have obviously stood them in good stead. I hope they prosper for many years to come. When my eyeglasses broke recently I thought about where to go to see if they could be repaired or what my options might be. I live in Kits where there are many optical supply shops, but I remembered my great experience over 20 years ago buying glasses from Abasa. So I took myself downtown for a revisit and I am so glad I did! I decided to replace the old glasses with new ones, and booked an appt. with Dr. Modi, the onsite optometrist. He was friendly and accommodating, like everyone at Abasa, and my eye exam was smooth and stress free. Abasa has a wonderful selection of frames, from very traditional to bright and trendy. I found a pair absolutely perfect for me, and very happily picked up my new specs a week later. And the price was far less than I anticipated, which made this experience even more special and memorable. I am incredibly grateful I made the effort to return to Abasa, where I will continue to go for any eyewear needs. I have already recommended them to family and friends. I truly doubt you could do better anywhere in Vancouver. If you need eyewear, contacts, sunglasses, accessories or an eye exam, Abasa is the place to go! Highly recommended! Great little shop.. had to get my glasses cleaned after a rough run at the beach. They popped the lenses, removed all the sand and tightened the frames all with a smile, great service for my glasses purchased previously.. in another country!

Excellent customer service.

Very experienced caring friendly staff & excellently priced - I've been wearing glasses for >25 years & this is the best place to go - also great for contact lenses. Great at problem solving glasses issue (that's how I found them as had purchased a prescription elsewhere but was getting headaches - I had always purchased contact lenses from them & dropped by to see if there was something wrong with the prescription I had - Dwane helped me right away - the prescription was right on, but Dwane was able to figure out that my previous prescription frames were flatter & the new rx was curved - he adjusted the frame & now no more headaches! I will be going here in the future for my next frame purchase) - this kind of skill in problem solving can only come from having a lot of experience in the industry - Dwane certainly has it. Lucky to have found a place like this
