Loved it!!!! Tam did a great job of fixing my closure that a previous hair dresser did for me, and the owner even gave my a piece of lace closer to help fix the problem. They made sure I was done right. Thank y'all so much.

Not proficient with African American hair. They overcharge for poor work on it.

Just had a disappointing experience with the JCPenney salon. I've been going to this salon since 2011 and they usually do a great job. However, today I had scheduled an appointment for after I got off of work. The person I had my appointment scheduled with called me to move my appointment up or reschedule it for tomorrow. I told her I couldn't do either since I'm working and leaving for a trip tomorrow. So she gave me this spiel about how it had been a slow day and she had been there since this morning (this was at 2pm. Their store opens at 10am). She said she didn't want to wait around for another two hours. I told her the best I could do was move the appointment up about 30 minutes. So she huffed and said she would just do some things she needed to get done and call me if there was a problem with the original appointment time we had set. Well, gee. I REALLY want you cutting my hair with that attitude. No. I cancelled. I get being tired. Wanna know what time I got to work this morning? 6am. I was up at 4:30am. I work three weekends out of the month. I get it. That was no excuse to flake on an appointment and have an attitude about it. I'm not sure if I'll return to this salon. It's pretty disappointing because I usually have good experiences there.

Bumble and bumble products are the worst! I wish Mango would stick with Aveda! I just had my hair shampooed and conditioned with B&b, no other products and it is so flat, heavy and sticky! Yuck!

Keyana has been my stylist for years so when I heard she was opening her own place, I was very excited to see the final product. Velvet did NOT disappoint! The salon is modern and chic and the stylists are all very knowledgable. I have a very low-maintenance (almost non-existent) hair and beauty routine but even on days that I don't spent a ton of time, I get compliments on my cut and color. Highly recommend Velvet!!
