Hearing Aid

My husband bought his first hearing aids from JHBI on 09-01-2010 and his second pair on 12-01-2015. The most impressive thing about this company is the customer service provided by Dr. Eblin and his assistant audiologist Lou. No matter what his hearing concerns were, they would listen and then act to resolve any problem he thought he was having. We are referring our friends who have hearing loss concerns to The Hearing Center at JHBI without hesitation.

Very disappointed. I checked with our insurance and this facility is in our network, so decided to schedule an appointment for my child to have a speech evaluation. Spoke to staff and provided insurance info, scheduled for 8am on 12/10/18. Received a confirmation call on 12/7/18 to be at the facility at 8am and earlier to complete paperwork and bring audiologist report. My wife and I took the day off of work, took our child out of school, and showed up at 7:40am to an empty receptionist desk. We eventually spoke to 3 different people. They check the schedule and state we are scheduled for 9:30am, not 8am. The speech therapist was argumentative in that the person scheduled us knew she was busy and had regular clients, so there was nothing she could do but for us to wait. The front office manager, who never introduced herself or told us what her exact title was, stated there was another speech therapist supposed to be there but we were notified of the change in time, but this was not true. We have a voicemail proving this. She said we could wait (with a 2.5 year old, no thank you) or come back in the afternoon which is another hardship and our child tests better in the morning. She was never considerate and seemed miffed that we were making a big deal of their lack of understanding of what the term "appointment" really means to the rest of society. We canceled and will not return. I plan to also contact our insurance company and make a complaint. No need for this agency to be providing services to their customers if this is the response from the staff.

Staff is very kind. There is never a wait and the Dr. is very good, he is quick and to the point.

Dr. Leslie Staverman received her Master’s Degree in Audiology from Ohio University and her Doctorate of Audiology (Au.D.) at Arizona School of Health Sciences is so caring it is incredible. After being nagged about being 'hard of hearing', which I had attributed to tinnitus, I went with the firm, albeit erroneous, belief that nothing could be done for me. In other words, I went reluctantly. Dr. Staverman gave me a thorough exam; I waited to be told, "There's no help for you". Then, she showed me the graphs of where my hearing acuity was actually dropping out. It was quite saddening to see... And then, Dr. Staverman said she can help. The audio process was explained in detail and was really quite fascinating. She told me about her proprietary work in hearing aids to help mute the tinnitus and boost the drop-outs. OK, I was still a bit skeptical, but I'd know in two weeks when the aids arrived. The wait was over. My 'bionic' ears, as my brother calls them, arrived. Do you know what? The ringing in my right ear almost entirely subsided! The snap, crackle, pop in my left ear measurably decreased. But the best part was I could HEAR! It would be cost prohibitive to send Dr. Staverman a Thank You card every week for a year, but that is how strongly I feel about her and her ability. And don't forget: I CAN HEAR! A shout out to Office Manager, Rose, who was also as tickled as I was for me to hear. She is also a warm and caring professional.
