I was a passenger in an auto accident when I was in my early 20s. Head trauma and a 5 day coma left me deaf in my left ear. Now, 50 years later, I am experiencing higher tone hearing loss in the remaining ear, which makes hearing more difficult in a variety of situations. I decided it was finally time to seek professional help and was so pleased to fine hearing professional Jim Schendel, at Ears2Hear, Surfside Beach, SC. After a sophisticated hearing test and quantitative evaluation, Mr. Schendel showed me a graph of my hearing acuity at various pitches and volumes and he knew exactly what type of hearing aid technology would be best for my situation. He fitted my with a sample device right in the office and answered all my questions. The device is a mini-computer that fits in and behind the ear and will have three programs uploaded into it. I will be able to easily select the right program at the touch of a button, based on the type of sound environment I am in. The device weighs almost nothing and is very comfortable to wear. After several weeks of wearing the device, and checking in with Mr. Schendel for whatever adjustments may be necessary, I expect to have close to the full range of hearing in my right ear, for the first time in years. Great Dr. and Staff

Needed to get my son in ASAP because his hearing aid stopped working over the weekend. Called on Saturday and left a message and on Monday morning Dr. Lisa Pool called me back "herself" and was able to see him the same day. She couldn't get the aid working but sent it off for repair and showed my son an app he could use on his phone along with ear buds to hear until the aid comes back in from the manufacturer. She was very sweet & helpful and I just love the fact that she was able to see him the same day! Thanks Dr Pool, you are awesome!
