Lord Dufferin Centre is warm and friendly. It is centrally located to downtown and you can come and go very well without any interference. They follow up with the family. Very safe place, staff is approachable.

Best senior home care in the area!

At first we had some reservations about having to put grandma in a home but from the very second we walked through the front doors this place is so lovely & cozy & the staff so friendly & welcoming we knew we'd made the right choice!

It's usually much healthier to let granny stay with you at home, but if you must send her away to be cared for by others this is a quiet place to be. Check out the treed area in front. Plenty of activities and some outings available.

My parents moved to Deerview almost 2 years ago from another retirement residence in another city in order to be more centrally located between their children. In that first year, our family was not very satisfied with the management of the property. In the meantime my mother had become terminal so a move was not a possibility. However a new general manager took over during the second year and I can honestly say that we are so happy that we kept my father at Chartwell Deerview. The leadership of Parry Lawrence (the new GM) has made all the difference. There is a sense now that the staff work together as a “team”. Complaints and/or suggestions are actually now being heard and followed up on. We have also been very impressed with the support, genuine concern and follow up that my father has received since the recent passing of my mother. Parry is also encouraging both the engagement of residents and community building through quite a few new activities and entertainment. We are certainly assured that under the direction of this new management team, that we have placed my father In a most supportive environment in which he can age with dignity and that we can expect the care that most families wish for their aging parents. Kudos Chartwell!

This is an older facility so it wasn’t my first choice but I now realize how fortunate we were when my mother in law was placed there. She received excellent care. Our experience with my father in law in a newer facility in Brampton has been absolutely horrible. Avalon is a great place for your loved one!

A lovely caring residence, staff, management do a great job and are very approachable, warm and friendly and the residents well cared for and happy.

I found the Administrator completely unprofessional. I did not receive a return call when inquiring about availability after visiting the home and leaving a voice message. When I called back a second time the Administrator was very rude telling me there was no availability. If this is the attitude at the top I can only imagine it tricked down to the staff. Would not recommend.

Terrible place. There is bad smell in the building and it’s not enough light in patients homes. It’s messy.
