I would have given a 1 star, but given that fact that there are a lot of reviews on internet already that describes what this place offers, giving 2 stars for my ignorance to reviews. This actually is a student dormitory of university of Montreal and the unused rooms are offered for public bookings, so don't expect much from this place. All rooms, except 3, don't have air conditioning, rooms are pretty small, washrooms are shared for the floor (10 other rooms), just a plastic table top fan to deal with sweating summers. The room features a washbasin, refrigerator, study table and a slider bed. Location of this place is well connected to public transport. The place offers breakfast for an additional 8.5 $ + taxes, which i would skip, anyday. I don't think I will ever be going back to this place, unless this is the only economical place available over an extended weekend (the only reason I booked this time as well).

Great place. Super friendly..CLEAN!! Even put towels on our motorcycles in the morning to dry them off.

Prices a little high:$88 no frills coffee doughnuts nothing rooms somewhat clean older building our room the lights outside come though window cartion s hug a blanket over them

Awesome food great people

Location was great for our needs, just passing through. We had a fantastic view of the water. My kids enjoyed just watching the boats most of the evening. Every staff member we interacted with was great and very friendly. We stayed in a 2 bed suite and it was perfect for our family of 4 and cat.

Check-in could have been better for an early check in; however, we were able to get into our room smoothly and it has been an enjoyable stay ever since. The amenities and housekeeping services have been tremendous . The room was clean upon first entering it, with fresh bath towels and clean linen. The showerhead in the washroom has excellent water pressure and the tub is a recently upgraded one with jets which helped with my sore back and legs. The proximity to the boardwalk and waterfront was a block away with a mall in between which was very convenient for our needs. The breakfast could have been better with more food and drink options, but it does provide the basic breakfast needs one could want. The attached bar and game room was a nice addition to the hotel, and they provided us with a voucher for just food (not alcohol). The hotel was also very close to the casino and the major tourist sites of Sault Ste. Marie and in a very quiet area. I would recommend this hotel for anyone looking for both a short or long stay in the Sault, and even visiting from nearby Michigan.

Two star room with five star everything else. A coworker and I stayed here for a work trip to the Soo and selected the Ramada Plaza because it was in the middle of everything, despite some poor reviews. They talked about run down rooms, fraud, and a lack of cleanliness. The first part is still true, but the other two have been remedied. Evidently the old staff was embezzling and defrauding both the owners and guests. This spilled over into every aspect of the hotel. Since then the owner (you might mistake him for a maintenance man if you hang around enough) has gone back hands-on to turn things around. While there is still a ways to go from a remodeling and design perspective, the rooms and public areas were very clean. The staff was great, but the location and sight lines steal the show. You can park your car and leave it in the lot for your stay, as EVERYTHING in town is a short walk away. The shipping traffic approaching and leaving the locks are visible from most rooms, and this makes it all worthwhile. The picture attached was the pilothouse of one of the lakers, as seen from my $93 room. I dont mind giving my business to them despite the well-used rooms in hopes that any revenue they get will now be reinvested to restore this gem to its former glory. Oh, and you can't beat a $12.99 prime rib special every night!

Clean and modern hotel. Convenient location close to waterfront , Bridge to USA, Essar Centre, Station Mall, Sault Ste Marie downtown and easy access to Trans Canada Highway. Noise issue caused by large group assembling in lobby woke us at 630am. Front desk staff offered sincere apology and loyalty points credit. Check In / Check Out was fast and friendly. All interactions with staff exceeded expectations. Typical of this chain, amenities included free wifi, free breakfast and indoor pool. Less expensive than Delta across street minus only the waterfront view.

Right on highway 17 it was so easy to get to. Perfect for an overnight thing, comfy bed, clean and tidy. Would go back.

One bed sheet was dirty but everything else was nice and clean. They kindly rented us a room that they were waiting for a plumber to fix the hot water in the sink. We were in a bit of a jam so we appreciated their help. Kind lady. We liked the little entrance way before you entered your room. We had 3 dogs and they were always trying to get out. The extra door was great for providing a chance to grab them. They let us park a 26 ft. Uhaul there also.

Comfy beds, accommodating staff. Toilet bowl had an unfortunate leak, but overall a minor considering the short nature of our stay

Nice place convenient to the local mall and St. Mary river walk. Room was spacious for a chain hotel’s family suite. Indoor pool, hot tub and sauna looked clean and inviting.

Lots of bugs

Excellent service. The room was very comfortable and clean. The restaurant was AMAZING! Best beet and goat cheese salad ever!! Daily full buffet breakfasts which now a days is rare. Enjoy!!
