The staff's steady encouragement and disciplined approach to movement and conduct at Centerline are great. My kids have already shown improvement in their strength and confidence in just a few short months. We love the Centerline way!

By far the best Sensei and dojo for traditional Go Ju Ryu Karate. I was a student as a child and when I moved back to Toronto I looked for Sensei Verlaan right away because he is one of the highest dan's available in North America and among the highest quality of karate teachers possible. You can hear the perfected instruction and style, speaking through him, from the karate masters of old. His dojo rotates a different focus on a weekly basis (sparring, Ju Jistsu, weapons etc) on top of the regular karate curriculum to create well rounded martial artists. The greatest achievement that one will recieve from this dojo is the focus of self development leading to Self Mastery of the mind, body and soul.

Great place to learn self defense. The coach is very knowledgeable and the class is challenging for weight loss, strengthening and self defense.

Disappointing to read the two negative reviews. I'd suggest those responsible need to seriously look themselves in the mirror and ask just why they are so unhappy in life. The one poster has spewed similar hate on various other Martial arts gyms. Perhaps he needs to start his own club, I'm sure it would be a huge success. My daughter and I have been members at Dragonz for over a year; to say we have enjoyed our experience is an understatement. It is the perfect balance between foundations and fun. Yes, contrary to certain opinions, you are allowed to have fun in such establishments. Sir Marvin is as qualified an instructor as you'll find, and as such has used his experience to formulate a progressive approach to martial arts. I strongly recommend Dragonz, whether you are 5 years old or 50 years old.

I was born in Okinawa and I moved to Toronto for my Business, I trained all my life back home and I have been looking for a Dojo to call home. this Dojo has good Kihon (Basics), but I'm not impressed with their fee structure , in my opinion they have lost sight of the true meaning of Karate-do, and have become too focused on capitalizing on their Karateka (students) I would not sign up here

I joined back in 1994 and spent much of my life there outside of University. I credit Sensei O'Connell with fostering a community-based school that operated on the principles of inclusion, camaraderie and helping each other. Our social lives revolved around the dojo. Our friends were from the dojo. Through Karate, I was successful in school, work and family life. My journey took me from HPMA for a while as I lived in other cities, but always training, or looking for a school. Having trained in 3 other cities and over half a dozen other schools in the 16 years I have been away, I can say with a degree of qualification that HPMA is far and away the best school I have experienced. Nowhere else even comes close to providing the level of physical, emotional and philosophical balance and development that a person can gain at HPMA. I am pleased to be able to spend a bit of time there once again. Thank you.

Way overdue! Finally best of the best, Ms. Dominique Bosshart, decided to share her Martial Arts experience and taekwondo knowledge with the public, at her own school. Google her name! It is great honour and pleasure to know Dominique personally, and through her work at Taekwondo Canada. The school is basically destined for success.

This is a fantastic place for anyone who's ever considered training martial arts. It's a very welcoming atmosphere filled to the brim with amazing people with positive attitudes. The training itself is great - you can simply train the art as you wish, or if you are looking to compete then Professor Marco Costa (whose wealth of knowledge about Martial Arts as a whole surpasses many, many others) is more than good enough at pushing you to your limit and helping you train the way you should be training. Whether you want to make your first steps, or take your Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu to the next level, this is THE PLACE to go. HIGHLY recommended.

Stark is a gym where nerdy science and brute strength are finally allies! This combination is unbeatable when you want to train smart. Steves knowledge of current strength-training strategies keeps his clients adequately challenged on a personal level... I've experienced more gains using Steves contemporary methods in 6 months than I have in 35 years of bodybuilding and various sport specific conditioning programs. I've never walked out of that gym disappointed! I look forward to the workouts and the knowledge that comes with it... more than just getting strong you're constantly learning from Steve, Phil and Adrian!! A-ha moments are as common as the pump you get! Keep it fresh boys!
