I went in to Akber Optical due to an eye infection and was given an appointment to see Dr. Kassam. He did a full eye exam and looked closely at my eye issue explaining it was not exactly an infection. He provided a natural remedy with an option for an antibiotic option. I chose the natural and he placed the script on my file in for the antibiotic in case it did not work and I could conveniently pick it up. The natural worked exactly as he explained. I was very impressed with Dr. Kassam and highly recommend him. The eye shop I have used before for glasses and repairs and it has a great selection with knowledgeable patient staff.

I have been a customer at Hakim in Whitby for a few years as has my husband. I realized their prices were higher than most places but I appreciated the one year warranty. It seems I always ended up paying $300 out of pocket over what my fairly decent benefit plan covered. Over a year ago I purchased 2 sets of glasses from Hakim with their buy one get one free promo, and paid $710 for both frames and lenses. You never know what you're being charged, as they don't post their prices, but punch everything into a handheld calculator. It's not until you pay, that you get a breakdown. This week, I took one of the pairs of glasses back to Hakim, to see if they could replace the lenses as they were scratched. The price they gave me, to replace the lenses was $700 - the price I paid for two new frames and lenses about 18 months earlier! Ridiculous!!! I checked online and I am shipping the frames to BC to have the lenses replaced for $150 including coating and premium lenses

Went and bought 2 pairs of glasses first pair came in and was the wrong prescription they said they other pair would be I shortly after over 2 weeks before I received my glasses .never buy from them again given the price I paid the service is horrible.

My only pair of glasses broke on Canada day, and leaving for vacation a couple of days later, it left me stressed out as to whether or not I'll be able to see while away. Nothing else was open!! I was happy I found this one. Lily was more than accomodating on the phone and in person to tell me what can be done. If I got a new pair of glasses, it would've taken a week longer because of the holidays and the higher prescription lenses I needed. Was there not more than 30mins and she found a quick solution for my broken glasses, I left with a new set of frames and a smile on my face because of the awesome staff.

Never seen staff who are so rude as them. Soooo desappointed. They didn't even welcome us when we going in the store...you can imagine the rest.

My fiance and I drove 45 minutes to this location to buy a pair of sunglasses for his birthday. He had received 2 gift cards for it. When we went to purchase a pair, the employee's had a hard time putting the gift cards through. After standing there patiently waiting for them to figure it out for at least half hour, the one then proceeds to tell us that the gift cards are not working because of their new system. And to make matters worse through out the process I heard them question if the gift cards even had money on them. It was a very exhausting and disappointing experience. After the fact, we went to another location and purchased a pair with the gift cards with no problems. We definitely will not be returning to this location.

Clean store, staff were very polite and knownlegeable. I believe Crystal was helping me and I would defiantly recommend more friends to visit this location.

Very friendly and knowledgeable staff and they were able to use my existing frames with my new lenses.

I haven't received my glasses yet, so I am only reviewing the service, which was exceptional! I had been putting off shopping for eye glasses as I had no idea where to buy from, or what style I'd like. I had a coupon for 50% off, so decided to try The Bay, and had such a great experience. Eileen was extremely helpful, and was able to help me find the perfect pair. Thank you!

Quality of glasses is overall not good at all. The left lens popped out a few weeks within revieving them, and they won’t pop back in fully (because of the size and shape of the frame?). I have a pretty small head and getting the frames fitted seemed like no problem, but days into getting them shaped, they slide off my face. Not satisfied at all.

Extremely helpful staff Sean & Lori were very patient with me as I can be quite indecisive when it comes to picking out new sunglasses! They we’re so knowledgeable on the product and styles. Loved my experience here and will definitely be back!
