my all time favorite place to snoop around in Vancouver.... never a disappointment

Really disappointed. Went in expecting something like BC Fasteners, they had little in the way of stock, were rather apathetic about helping me and out of the 6 different items I was searching for in 'professional' quantities, they had half of what I needed of ONE of them. I was ready to spend a few hundred dollars on fasteners and left basically empty handed. They were also unable to tell me who else might have what I was seeking. The point of going to a wholesale supplier is to find staff that know their stock and their industry. That includes the competition.

I’ve been really pleased with the service at the Marine Drive Benjamin Moore. The staff are experienced, knowledgeable and friendly. The store is well stocked.

It's Army & Navy, an institution in the DTES, and a life line for those living paycheck to paycheck. There's a few things missing from this store, but that's to be expected. Staff are friendly, prices are competitive and their hours are decent.

Welk's sells practically everything one would need but at a cheaper if not the lowest prices in the city. Little known fact is they carry the largest selection of s'well bottles around! No need to go to chapters. Used to be a bit dingier but recent renovations have made the shopping experience far more enjoyable.

I am a fussy person. When service is excellent, I acknowledge that and when service is lousy, I acknowledge that. Capilano Glass provided excellent service as follows: immediate greeting when I arrived; service person available almost right away; complete familiarity with my problem was evident; work suggested and the process required were clearly outlined; cost and time involved were reasonable to me. Helpful staff. Smaller than the typical Home Depot, but lots of stuff to buy nonetheless. Wheelchair accessible (elevator up & ramp down).

I have often shopped at Nielsen’s over the years. They carry an extensive inventory of many things you need in the moment to fix the cottage repair. They are very helpful and friendly. When ordering larger special items they are competitive. I wrote this review because I couldn’t believe more people were not giving them reviews. Thank you for being there when needed during the last 15+ years.

Unpleasant customer service. Unwilling to help.

I just called and spoke to someone from this branch looking for some assistance to track down a couple replacement bolts & nuts we need for a Shurjoint coupling. I have photos of the bolt, we have measured it, we have the spec information from Shurjoint and all I wanted to do was send this information to someone there to get assistance with tracking down 2 replacements. As a fastener company I assumed they have experts or people on staff that know more about this stuff than I do. This person was not willing to give me an email address or offer any type of assistance to track parts down. Just go on the website and select it yourself I was told. No other vendor I've dealt with in 12 years has ever said that to me. No one has ever not been willing to help track something down. I certainly won't reach out to them again for anything. If staff aren't willing to go the extra mile on smaller things like this, they don't deserve bigger orders. Within 2 minutes of talking to another vendor just down the road from this branch and sending them the photos and info we had, we are on our way to pickup the parts. My advice; go elsewhere. Don't bother going here or giving these guys your business. If your like me you'd much rather support other company's that are willing to help you get your job done.
