I cannot say enough nice things about KO Mountain River Lodge. I searched online many months for different cottages/cabins that had everything that my boyfriend and I were looking for, and very few had what we wanted within a reasonable price range- and I came across this place. I contacted an owner online and he was wonderful, personable,honest, and made it clear he wanted to make this the best experience possible for us - which showed even more when we arrived. The family that works there are AMAZING individuals that genuinely care about you, what your interests are, and who you are as a person. Its like automatically becoming a part of their family. The cabin was exactly what we were looking for and then some, fully stocked with clean linen and kitchenware, comfortable bed, great cell reception and wifi. What made it though was the VIEW! Water, mountains, trees, hills and beach as far as the eyes can see with very few bugs! The area is well maintained and cared for, as is the variety of boating options, pool and hot tub. I felt like I was in a piece of heaven because there were no concerns, worries and was so stress free! Loved that beakfast was included, there were communal BBQs - literally everything you could as for in this environment. We were able to go fishing multiple days and saw breathtaking wildlife from fox, to even a moose! Most importantly, the fishing was excellent! I hated having to leave and already cannot wait to go again next year for a slice of paradise!

You’ll need a beat-up 4x4 when traveling the unkept back gravel roads of Quebec. Large pot holes, rocks and wash-board gravel roads are your beloved path west of Sheenboro, to the Oiseau Rock Hiking Trail. A small $12 entry fee at the check point to the “ Z.E.C “ which stands for ‘Québec’s zones d’exploitation contrôlée area’. The road to the small parking lot is steep and washed out as well. But don’t be discouraged, the actual walking trail to Oiseau Lake is totally worth the rustic drive to this beautiful Quebec hidden oasis. Mind you, you must wear proper hiking gear. Especially proper foot wear. Tons of biting mosquitoes and buzzing insects, including black flies and horse flies. Bug jacket and head cover is a good option. Bug spray doesn’t cut it in the back woods of Quebec. Rumour has it the provincial bird of Quebec is the mosquito. The trail is a mix of intermediate to difficult terrain. The trail length seemed farther than we anticipated. The trail is a good 4km one way and obviously, 4km back. This rare raw nature hike is a great workout, rewarded with a nice refreshing swim in the mountain top lake, picnic at the famous Oiseau Rock lookout and hike back. Bring a backpack full of water and picnic food. It gets dark quickly so don’t venture out passed 5pm. Highly recommend the trip to explore ‘Sheen County’. To be honest, for those not crazy about hard core hiking, the Ottawa River boat ride to the base of Oiseau Rock beach, and the short trail to the summit, is by far the easiest way for the non-energetic general public, including children, to enjoy the view and lake at the top.

Best Marina on the Nautical mile. Fair prices too!

My family went to Windsor Adventure originally and the kayaks were dirty, the PFD's were gross and there website says they have paddle boards and outdoor bikes to rent but don't actual offer them anymore. Then our friends suggested going to Urban Surf and we had a blast! Highly recommend here guys!!
