Tower Road Campground

Tower Road Campground

There are very few places to park a campervan Ft.McMurray and this has full hook ups. The fires have taken virtually all the trees so it is barren and dusty. But well maintained and the permanent residents are very friendly.

My friends and I booked a camping site for one night here to get away and enjoy some water. It was instantly a disappointment when the campsite we booked said waterfront and it was no where near “waterfront”. We set up camp anyways and tried to make the best of it. We were in the water for an hour until we found a couple leeches on what we were floating on. Instantly our bodies felt itchy so we towel dried and went to shower off quickly. All four of us got swimmers itch and are now covered in red bumps everywhere. We went to the office/store and asked for calamine lotion and they were sold out. If you sell out of the lotion that should be a sign there is something wrong. I told the lady at the register, “so your lake has swimmers itch hey?” And she said “the people who test the water say we don’t but we sure get a lot of people complaining about being itchy” If that is happening then there is something wrong!! And we should have been informed about the situation before going into the water. That is the campsites responsibility to at least inform guests of the possibility of getting swimmers itch. Totally unprofessional. At 1 am there were dogs barking all night long and then at 8 am there were people doing construction on a building. Definitely not worth what we paid for an unserviced site. Will not be back again.

Had a WONDERFUL anniversary party here with my family! We bought out the lodge and it was absolutely perfect---spacious, beautiful, and was stocked with EVERYTHING you need! The pictures were a little hard to find, but the best ones were found on the facebook page. Even so, the lodge and pool was even better in person. My family absolutely raved how wonderful their weekend was here!
