I stayed here for a week while attending a course at U of Guelph. If I could give 6 stars I would. An absolutely fantastic experience. A full kitchen in my room, which of course saved me money. The room was in immaculate condition and cleaned daily. The front lobby, eating area, hallways all looked new (it was that clean). Everything worked (it was hot so I needed the A/C). Exercise room was great and I used it 3 nights of my 5. Laundry facilities were also great (I used them once). Dinner was served 3 nights (included in your price), and breakfast each day. I did not take advantage of breakfast, but a friend dd and they enjoyed it. Every staff member was more than helpful and pleasant. It is only a few minutes from a couple of different malls and for any shopping you need to do. And it is about 8-10 minutes from the University. I am back again next year at another course, there is no doubt I will be staying here again. Thank you, you guys really do it well!

This hotel is beautiful on the inside. The rooms are clean, the pool is nice and the breakfast is satisfactory. More fresh options should be added to the menu. The only fruit available for my week long stay were apples and fruit cups. I'm also disappointed there was no fitness centre when it is clearly listed on the amenities while booking. My room was so gorgeous and the orice was so reasonable, that I really can't complain about anything. If you stay here, make good use of the university campus across the street. Buy a Tim Horton's or Starbucks coffee(open mon-fri) and explore the grounds. There is also a fitness centre here and you can enjoy a nice quiet jog around the campus in the morning. I would stay here again.

Linda is a wonderful host and the rooms are nice and clean. Always enjoy the delicious warm breakfasts and views outdoors. Very close to Mosport if you happen to attend an event there.

Stay if you have no other options. Don't expect much, the rooms are poorly cleaned and the bathrooms are poorly constructed/maintained. Breakfast is almost depressing, the toasters look like they haven't been cleaned since being purchased. You're better off getting a coffee at the gas station and the cereal looked like it's been sitting out since the start of the year. Pretty sure there was blood on the ceiling of our bathroom and there was old moldy water drips which show nothing ever gets wiped down properly. We had a room with two double beds and one of them felt like it was going to collapse because the foot of one support was missing half of its base. Also, the boxspring of one bed had a couple nasty looking brown stains (time to replace stuff guys). Also clearly visible staining on the carpet of our room and garbage bins didnt even have bags in them. We also requested a crib/play pen for our 9 month old and were told it would be brought over right away but that never happened. After that we were just done and didn't even bother asking for anything else and basically got out of there as soon as possible.

... so loud. Maybe because there is no carpeting in the rooms? There was a wedding party staying in the hotel all weekend. I was woken up MULTIPLE times a night by people entering and exiting the elevator, walking down the hallways, we could hear everything. I think they could definitely improve the sound proofing. And PLEASE FIX YOUR ELEVATOR DOORS. THEY ARE SO LOUD. leaving feeling tired and grumpy.

Had visited Econo Lodge last month. Rooms spotless. Very cosy. Breakfast wonderful. Will surely visit again.

Called to see if they had a room available for two people last minute (in a snowstorm), and they said yes. When I started to explain that the room was for my parents arriving at the nearby airport at 1am (flight was delayed), the host cut me off and said "FORGET IT, we don't pick up people from the airport..." I'm assuming he was about to say something about that being too late, but I hung up because what he said and the way he said it was so rude. First of all, I never asked them to pick up my parents, I thought they would get a cab. Secondly, there are a thousand ways to POLITELY turn down business if that's what you want to do, rather than interrupting someone and telling them off. So I'll be 'forgetting' this place exists next time I need to find accommodation in the area.

The hotel was simple and as described. It was very clean and the staff was polite. It’s conveniently located right next to the trolley stop and you get a day pass per day stayed. I appreciated my stay. Thank you!

Very worst hotel that we stayed during our Niagara Falls trip. Heavy smoke smell and even I afraid that I must have carried some bad bugs to back home. Really smelly room and not at all comfortable for even for sightseeing. Rate is comparable to the nice hotels near by and even then the service is very poor. Breakfast is awful as I tasted expired orange juice, non tasty corn flakes and expired breads. Very small place to eat and no AC inside the breakfast room.. I regret my stay here and I want to make sure people do see these reviews before they take the decision.

Good for a place to sleep but not anything else... Staff look at you like you're an outsider and they seem to be rude.. My grandson asked what time the pool closed and they told him it's posted on the gate....Really? You can't just tell him....

This is a standard motel! It has had a bit of a facelift since the last time we stayed there making it a bit more modern. I would stay here again.

We were in Guelph last weekend to see a band and decided it would be best to stay overnight. You know, to avoid that whole drinking and driving thing everybody is always talking about? Anyway, we booked our room online and that was straight forward. This hotel is within walking distance of The Guelph Concert Theatre so that's pretty handy! There were 4 of us so we booked a room with 2 queen size beds and it was really affordable! We came from Hamilton and didn't really know our way around Guelph so we used Google Maps for the directions to the address listed on their website. When we arrived, there was a sign taped to the front door that said patrons had to use the back door to get in.. not a big deal but maybe a heads up on their site would be good because we had to throw all our stuff back in the car and drive all the way down the street and around the block to the back of the hotel. The lobby was clean and tidy. The lady at the front desk was polite and friendly and had us checked in and ready to go in just a few minutes. We rode up to our floor in a neat old Otis elevator. Our room was quite large considering how little we paid... there was a cosy sitting room with a couch, a large closet, a beer fridge and a tv on one end and of course the sleeping area and a desk on the other. There was also a full bathroom. Not too shabby! The room was very clean as well so no complaints there... we were quite happy with everything. We began getting ready for the show, listening to music and hoisting a few beers, nothing too crazy.. when the phone rang. And there it was, the only thing we found that was wrong with our room... paper thin walls, lol. So great price, friendly staff, spacious clean rooms, convenient location and thin walls... not bad. Not bad at all!

The recent owner or superintendent decided to put money into redoing the Cosmetics of the interior, though they really don't help the place and if anything make it look a little bit more tacky. Otherwise the individual units are fairly decent.

I stayed at the Western for close to 2 months while relocating to Guelph for work. It was exactly what I was looking for in a long term stay hotel. I stayed in a standard queen suite on the third floor. The suite was comfortable and well equipped with a full kitchen, nice shower and cozy bed. Plenty of closet space with an entry way and bedroom closet with a few hangers. An added bonus was a Keurig in the kitchen restocked daily (although Planet Coffee just around the corner is excellent). The one thing the room did not have was a cutting board but there's lots of places around to get a small cheap one. Good internet and cable in room. The location was perfect making it possible to walk around in the evening, go to shops, restaurants, grocery stores and a nearby Moksha yoga studio. There's also a Goodlife within easy walking distance or 5 minute drive. I had seen complaints about noise and for what it's worth I was only woken up twice by noise from the street while I was there so didn't find it that much of a bother. The housekeeping staff were top notch and kept my room so clean without it feeling clinical which helped to make me feel at home for a long term stay. The long term rate was very reasonable in my opinion. I had absolutely no issues with check in and found all staff very personable, friendly and helpful. Overall I could not recommend this place more highly for short or long term. A beautiful spot with excellent accommodations in a great location at a reasonable price.

This place is beautifully historic, and quiet. A great way to experience historic Guelph while being close to everything downtown Guelph has to offer.

Super comfortable bed! Standard comfortable room with fridge, tv, in room AC you have control of and a Keurig. Plenty of parking available. Close to all amenities. Bring your bathing suit for the pool - it was actually a nice one that was getting a lot of use.
