Hotel/Motel

Enjoyed the open layout of the rooms, with each room being accessed from outside and he motel style parking. The cobtinental breakfast was decent "continental" so juice, cereal, toast, fruit, coffee/tea is all you should expect. The room was small but clean and had coffee maker/hair dryer. Staff was very nice. Would recommend.

Clean

Joan and Rick White were a blessing to us. We had accommodations at another place and when we arrived found it deplorable and decided not to stay. We went into Newboro and stopped at the Poplars Lodge. We told them of our predicament and they were able to accommodate us for 4 days on the spot and supply us with a boat and motor. The accommodations were very good and the food excellent. The view from our porch of the lake was beautiful. We enjoyed our stay and made some new friends. Joan, Rick and the entire staff were delightful. We will definitely be making reservations to stay there again. Yvonne and Gary Raffensperger, Pennsylvania

This place is awesome. Friendly, helpful staff. The place is clean and inviting.

Love it there. A group of us been going there every year on fathers day weekend to fish durning the day, bbq in the evening and hangout by the fire pit at night.

Lovely spot on the water. Staff were very helpful with any requests we had. Great location with two restaurants on the property, just steps away from Gananoque Boat Lines dock.

My wife, brother, sister, sister-in-law and two nephews spent memorial week there at the cottage on the water. We had a remarkable experience there. Beautiful grounds with a spectacular view of the St. Lawrence River. Lots of amenities including inground pool, outdoor campfire pit, bocce court, propane gas grills, comfy beds, heated and air conditioned rooms. The list goes on and on. The very friendly owner was on site to assist us with many questions that we had. West Winds is just a few short miles to some nice restaurants and shops in both Clayton and Alexandria Bay! Not to mention a fabulous restaurant called Saint Lawernce Spirits Distillary and Chateau right next door the West Winds!! We will most certainly be staying there again the next time travel in that direction!!

Very clean / modern rooms. Friendly staff. Rooms are not overly large, so max 4 stars from me.

As a motel, the rooms look great but has a funky\musky smell from the AC unit. The pool needs better cleaning. The included breakfast is where it needs a lot of improvement. You'll have your basic English style breakfast (Pastry, cereal, bread, PB and Jam) They also include one type of eggs (Scrambled), English sausage and a waffle maker. Tea and coffee station as well. If you go early in the morning (Between 7 and 8 am) You'll be able to have all the above. Anything between 8:30 and 10 am. Forget the eggs and sausages. We went around 9:00 am, I had to tell the lady working to make more eggs and sausage as she said. Sorry it's finished. As we were waiting about 15 to 20 more people came in for breakfast. The main items should always be available until 10 am as stated in the deal. Breakfast included from 7am to 10 am!!! It's only 2 items, it can't be hard to make it available.

Cabins were good. Nice and quiet being that far off road. Was clean and well looked after.some things were a little dated but was ok

The place is good. Big mosquitos fly outside of the small houses. I don't like them. But inside the bedroom, it has two beds and a bathroom . The bathroom is small and so as the bedroom. It has a refrigerator and a microwave and good service. I like it. They have free breakfast for overnight guests. And they are nice and astounding. I would recommend this to people to stay for the night as a guest. This is the hotel.

The water from the bathroom sink faucet and shower head came out brown. We ended up not taking shower and brushed our teeth with water we purchased. With a baby and a toddler, no chances were taken. We also found a used plastic glass on the floor and dead flies in the shower. On a better note, nice morning staff.

Enjoyed a great weekend with 2 kids and our dog. Loved the cottage feeling of the property and pool. Already planning our next visit
