Great teachers and classes. Family vha he rooms quite smelly most times but regular change rooms clean and tidy.

Nick is an excellent instructor. He offers a deep and broad knowledge of practical self defense. His training is very practical and he is very engaging, welcoming questions and comments. As a fellow instructor, I admire Nick's consistent dedication hone his craft by refining his techniques and teaching. His students are in excellent hands!

Great community and a terrific place to learn traditional Shotokan Karate-Do

I have been "Sweating with P4P" now since near the beginning of 2013 and have been extremely pleased with my improved level of health and fitness. I was fairly fit when I first came to P4P but felt "stalled" in my quest to take my fitness to the next level. The work-out routines that I have been doing on my own were no longer effective and I felt that I had stalled with regards to my weight-loss and fitness level. I was unsure of how to proceed with regards to the toning and sculpting of my body not to mention becoming bored with the exercises I had come up with on my own. P4P has solved all those dilemmas for me with knowledgeable instruction, introducing effective techniques and a personalised program designed specifically to suit my needs. It's a great relief to show up for my session knowing that the P4P instructors have already planned and effective workout for me and that they will keep tabs on my progress so my work out sessions will continue to be effective. I have chosen to do a work-out session that involves half strength-training and half boxing. I find the boxing, not only a lot of fun, but very physically and mentally challenging. It is an intense cardio work-out that still has my gasping for breath most times! The P4P instructors change up my personal training sessions to keep things interesting, keep my body guessing and to ensure I don't get bored. I am no longer stalled in my fitness goals and have definitely noticed an increase in the toning of my body, my fitness abilities and have dropped a few of those stubborn pounds! The P4P instructors have taught me the proper way to work out and strength train so I am confident I am doing my works out properly and effectively when I'm forced to work out on my own at home. I have found the P4P instructors to be extremely reliable, conscientious, knowledgeable, professional and serious about assisting their clients in achieving their fitness goals. My boyfriend and I have been members at Mamute MAA for over a year now and I can honestly say it has been a life changing experience. After only a month in the club, we considered every member family. We developed relationships with our fellow teammates that have developed into forever friends - our friendship does not end at our academy. We were spending more than 4 nights a week commuting over a half an hour for class, so we have actually moved to be closer - and we are now spending 6-7 days a week there and have begun to attend additional classes! (Receive kickboxing, mixed martial arts, and conditioning training here too!) I can't imagine it any other way! Our Professor has not only become our mentor, but a great friend! We have an amazing team with humble members, and much like everyone else I have never seen any coach or our Professor encouraging overly aggressive behaviour. Even as a brand new member, I can assure you that everyone was extremely kind and took the time the help and educate me to be sure that no one was injured (proper break fall technique, proper shoulder roll technique, self-defense technique, etc.). All of our coaches are knowledgeable and to attend a class instructed by ANY of them is an opportunity that should not be taken lightly. In our academy we all learn from eachother, and I feel that is what makes us such a strong team. (I feel like the word 'team' takes away from the 'family' we have at our academy - because that is what we are, a FAMILY!) To hear anyone speaking ill of my Professor, my coaches, my family, and my academy just means that they have not actually experienced Mamute MAA - because every member will agree with the great gym that Professor runs and the exceptional teaching we are receiving, there is no room for complaint. No matter your age, your skill level, your gender, you will receive great training and constant motivation from our Professor and your fellow teammates. I can guarantee there is a class for everyone! I encourage you to just come check it out for yourself! I am proud to call Mamute MAA my home and my family - Thank you Professor (& family!) and every member of our Mamute family! Great Gym and even better extended family

THE best gym in the Durham Region. If you're serious about lifting, conditioning or any form of athletic training, then this is the spot for you. Mike (owner) and his staff are incredibly friendly and sociable, making this a great environment to be in. Lots of great equipment you won't find at commercial gyms and the building itself is filled with motivation to push your workout to the next level. As well, I would suggest talking to both Mike and Cedric (partner) about any hockey or basketball training. These guys have some well-known clients and could definitely elevate your game to new levels. GO TO SHED! Simple as that.

The Street Smart Defensive Arts Summer Camp was voted the #1 summer camp by my two kids this past summer. Tons of activities, loads of fun and best of all they came home exhausted.

I have been through a few different martial arts school since my youth. I've taken a few different types of Karate and taekwondo but this is the only school I have stuck with for the last 8 years. There is always something new to learn and Master Bartlett offers so much in his teachings. He addresses each individual's needs and ensures everyone progresses at their pace. He shares so much information and encourages you to use what works best for you. Villari's martial arts offers a system that has no ceiling and we have access to so many other Master instrustors that learning here can be a life long experience. My daughter has been learning from Master Bartlett for the last 5 years as well and her confidence in her day to day life and accomplishments in school have also increased as a result of her training. I would highly recommend Villari's Martial Arts to anyone wanting to learn practical self defence.

In response to the rating by Marianna Zhabokritsky... I have reviewed our records and can find no record of any contact with this person. All interested parties are offered a free trial class yet there is no evidence that this person even made a visit to this club. A bogus review by a competitor? I hope not. Although we are not a fancy facility we maintain a high standard of martial arts training. This is conveyed via a hands on trial class. I am disturbed that people can post such negative comments with no evidence of them ever having visited the facility. We encourage positive thinking through positive physical training. I find it very hard to believe that anyone who gives our club a legitimate trial will walk away with such negative opinions. I urge you all to come on in and have a free trial class and see for yourself why we have served Durham for over 17 years!

Family run business with dedicated, exceptional instructors, very impressed

Our son started here in February of this year and we couldn't be happier! He loves it there. Staff is amazing .. very approachable and friendly. Master Ron is great with the kids and its just a very positive and fun atmosphere. Great hours/class times and very flexible schedules.
