Good, caring environment for my in laws.

My 94 year old grandmother wasn’t doing well in assisted living and needed round the clock care. She actually perked up quite a bit after moving to Royal City Manor. About a month after she went in, my grandfather had a stroke and was left physically incapacitated, so he was also moved to Royal City Manor. Because he was still cognitively in tact he was miserable having to be dependant for every day care so he decided to pursue medical assistance in dying. I flew in from Ontario to be with him and my extended family during this difficult time and I can’t say enough good things about the staff. They were beyond empathetic and offered hugs and sympathy to all of us. They even allowed us a private lunch in the tea room prior to grandpa’s procedure. The staff truly embraced our family and treated us as their own. It’s a relief to know that my grandma has such wonderful people looking after her now that grandpa is gone. My sincerest gratitude to the caring staff at RCM. ❤️

I have had nothing but great experiences working with Karp Homecare. As an occupational therapist I work mostly with individuals who have been in motor vehicle accidents, and Karp Homecare offers a multitude of services to meet each client's individual needs. It is especially nice to find a company that offers services such as home cleaning, meal preparation, and personal care all in one place.

Terrible service.

Awesome place! Friendly staff, clean house and great food! Need to be on income assistance, disability or old aged pension to live here. Fun if you get in and I made lots of friends! Gazebo for cigarettes but no alcohol/drugs allowed. I would recommend this place its a really memorable time!

I was unsure about my Grandmother going into a rest home. After talking to other families and being there myself I found it to be a very happy place. There is a calendar of events for the month with 4 events each day. I can purchase a meal and sit and eat with her. She can go to the hair salon or the store in the hall. The biggest bonus for me is the care. I love the people who work there and the volunteers. Wonderful people. It has put my mind at so much ease I just am so grateful to know that even if I get sick she is cared for. Thank you so much for all you do.

Saved my moms life

I am a private caregiver and have worked with many clients in care or going into care over the last 10 years. Kiwanis Care Centre , in New Westminster, gets 4.5 stars from me for several reasons. From the continuous support of the nursing staff , careaides, activity, dietary, kitchen, housekeepers, reception to management. This whole group works as a team! They all try their best to encourage residents, to make them feel safe and comfortable in their new home. This is not always an easy task. Providing good meals, music therapy, a clean environment as well as medical support is just what I have witnessed being there 5 days a week for the past 4 months. Every concern that I or the family I support have had has always been addressed professionally. Thank you Kiwanis for "all" that you do!

We were searching for a nice place for my mother to live. We were recommended by a friend to check out The Dunwood in NewWestminster. When I called I was greeted by a very nice women who took the time to find out what we were looking for and cared enough to ask many questions, which made me feel this is the place. My sister and myself took my mother to look at the building and see what The Dunwood had to offer. We were amazed at the facilities and how it is maintained.The staff were so welcoming and knowledgeable that we knew at that moment my mom would fit right in and we also knew that while living here she would make many friends. My mom is 87years young and she has lived at The Dunwood for three weeks. She calls us everyday to tell us about how nice her apt is and how caring all the staff are. She has met many new people and has started to get together with them to have tea, go to bingo and eat many of her meals in the coffee shop on site or on the 11th. floor every Monday ,Wednesday and Friday. I would like to say thank you to the staff for helping us make my moms life more enjoyable. Bobbie Prosser

My Mom and Dad lived at Thornebridge for about 7 years. I cannot say enough good things: the staff is very caring, the facility is modern, clean and high-end, and the location is great with many things within walking distance. When my parents moved in they didn't need any extra services, but as time went by, they needed more. I was very pleased by the attention they got: For example I liked the way the staff followed-up if Mom/Dad didn't show up for a meal. After my Dad passed away, the staff worked hard to make my Mom comfortable and gave her many extra services that allowed her to stay there for as long as possible. I highly recommend Thornebridge for independent seniors.
