I first enrolled my daughter in the Little Ninjas program for two reasons. First, since she had only ever been home and taught by me, I wanted her to be exposed to being in a class of other children her age, taught by someone else before being thrust into Kindergarten. Second, I noticed some anxieties in her that I hoped she could get past through learning martial arts. She fell in love with the class immediately and started building up her confidence. The class filled in some classroom things that she was not getting at home (standing in line, learning not to be distracting or to be distracted by others), and she made a smooth transition into Kindergarten. As far as her anxieties, she started out as a child who when "put on the spot" even for good reasons (asked to demonstrate, or being praised) or if the class was doing something she didn't understand, she would shut down. She would stand still with tears in her eyes and you could see the panic she was feeling. By a year later in the beginner class, she had not only ceased to have instances like that, but also became one of the kids who would eagerly raise her hand to volunteer for demonstrations or stretching. That alone made our experience at LVMA priceless. As far as the actual business itself, I have been impressed by everything I have witnessed there. The program is designed to keep things interesting, but also practice things enough to improve. They teach more than just punches, kicks and wielding weapons. The owner, Shigung, is a kind and down to earth person who is involved in the business and will stand and chat with the parents and say "Hello" to the children. The instructors are good at balancing having fun and being kind to the students, with maintaining age appropriate expectations of ability and behavior. Even the graduation ceremonies are a blend of serious celebration of hard work and laid back fun. In the year and a half that we have been here, we have gained so much for our daughter, and I am so thankful to have found this place.

Excellent school - very kid-friendly. Shifu Alex Oleksa has a good way with kids across a wide range of ages and skills - firmly promoting discipline and focus in a patient, gentle manner. I've been impressed by the progress kids make in his program. Most start out as (naturally) highly-distracted, uncoordinated, shy children, but make big gains in focus, coordination, and self-confidence over the course of their first year in the program. I've watched the more advanced classes and see that the growth trend continues. Shifu Alex places a strong emphasis on character development, too, with weekly discussions about honesty, integrity, positivity, etc. during stretches. The kids respect him, so they listen intently and so will benefit in other aspects of their lives. It's not a cheap program, but it's worth it.

As a student and now instructor here, I def recommend EMA to anybody looking to start martial arts!

Beautiful facility with wide verity of programs

I am a junior Black Belt and my brother is a red with white stripe my sister is a red/blue belt and my dad is a orange belt.....we have had so much fun there and it is so amazing to be treated like one big family.

As an update one year later, I have lost 25 pounds no longer required to take blood pressure medication which is extraordinarily prevelant in my family. I'm still prone to it if my body is under unusual stress like a recent vertigo episode. Once the vertigo left, my blood pressure went back normal of course! That could have happened to anyone! My Lupus flare-ups are now rare and minimal - especially with a huge reduction of the chronic fatigue associated with it ( I'm still able to attend class on an occassional "so-so day") In contrast, my fatigue used to put me out for days! Also, My body is better conditioned today than it was 20 years ago when I worked out regularly at the gym at the age of 25! I'm not claiming this pathway is a magic bullet. It takes a love for the activity and a lot of hard work. I fit it into my schedule 5 days a week as a single mom! Its in my routine as concrete as a job and cooking dinners. No room for excuses in my life. The money Im saving in health costs alone is worth my investment of time and tuition. Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think I would be involved with martial arts. Someone else set up an appointment for me for my birthday! I wasn't looking for this at all! Once you see a free demonstration from one of our masterful instructors who are always willing to share (and by the way they are ALL compassionate, kind and sooo funny! Lots of laughter in this space), that will be the moment when you say to yourself... "That is too cool for words and I want to do that too". There is nothing to lose when our instructors will meet with you for free. It makes for a unique birthday gift, thats for sure! In my case, a life long gift I will be forever greatful for. (Disclosure: If I sound like Im in the sales industry, be assured I am not. This is MY heart felt testimony that describes only my experience. Many more people need this, they just don't know it yet.)

Absolutely amazing place ! Best thing I could have ever done for my son was enroll him there ! He has only started a few months ago but the change in him is incredible ! The staff are friendly and very patient ! Incredible place and so warm and welcoming ! I recommend enrolling your children if you can 😊

Well to be honest with you don’t waste your time and money at this joker place. I enrolled my 8 years old and his 6th class instructor started his training with upper level kids. Both instructors look like a joker in the class and seems under qualified for this job. Though I paid them for a month but it’s worthless to me to send my son there. I don’t think so they are even trying to teach 40% of Kang Fu. Total ripoff. please don’t disrespect this great act of Martial Arts and stop fooling parents those don’t know about KANG FU

I learned from Lee's Martial Arts Center when I was in elementary school. This school was top notch. They taught respect, discipline, humbleness, integrity, compassion, teamwork, all of the above. Grandmaster Lee, and the two Master Lee's were encouraging, firm, compassionate, consistent, humble, and truly a great memory of my childhood. I would honestly go back if I lived closer! If you are looking to learn Tae Kwon Do, this is the place I would recommend, highly!

Something is going wrong with your website. First I tried to see a schedule of the Kickboxing classes you have after seeing an ad on Groupon. Your website states no info about one. Then I tried to sign up for the newsletters and the screen warns me I may be in the wrong place with an error code. (404 Page not Found, and instructions for me: If you're a visitor and not sure what happened: 1) You entered or copied the URL incorrectly or 2) The link you used to get here is faulty. (It's an excellent idea to let the link owner know.) ) I clicked on the link right from the Groupon ad, at "Company Website", then I tried to visit the site through Google and received the same message. =(

It is truley is the best school, my kids loved them and stayed there for four years. We moved in to a different state and we are having a difficult time finding a school as good as Golden Crane. Diane & Lee truely care about the kids, thier progress and thier development. I would recommend Golden Crane to any kids or adults.
