Just experienced my first intro class and thoroughly enjoyed it. So much so that I’m hungry for more! Brandon, Katie, and the entire team are locked in. They meet you where you’re at, and deconstruct the movements and mindfulness for rapid progression. Highly recommended.

Second home

I began with the Tai Chi Chung lessons and then progressed to the 8 Martial Arts program. I trained for several years and now have a black belt and am an assistant instructor. I am in good health, have a positive outlook on life and am enjoying the training. I just turned 71 and am gratefull for the higher belts teachings.

I have been training in martial arts in Gatineau for many years. After an injury I had to find a new approach to my training. This is when I found and joined the Patenaude family. It has been 2 years now and I am still very satisfied. Patenaude martial arts is the best school in the Outaouais by far. Je m y suis entraine pendant 3 ans et j' ai vraiment, vraiment aime ca ( j ai continue a venir alors que j habitais dans le quartier Nepean a Ottawa ). L' enseignement, les eleves, l ecole, tout est vraiment super ! L' ecole situee a Gatineau sur Maloney est pour moi la meilleure de la region ottawa-gatineau ( en plus c est billingue ). J ai appris beaucoup au niveau sportif et aussi sur le plan personnel. Des coachs super, humains et bienveillants ( surtout ne changez rien ! ) En plus j aime beaucoup la facon de voir la vie, et les valeurs qui sont transmises. Bref, reflechissez pas 1 seconde, juste allez y et vous apprendrez bien plus que des arts martiaux, vous apprendrez la vie et vous grandirez sur le plan personnel !

I only trained here a couple of times but my wife and daughter train almost everyday. From what they tell me and what I have experienced the facility is well taken care of and the instructors really know what they're talking about. Great thing try.

My daughter has been part of the Tang Soo Do family for 3 years now and she loves it! Karate has been the only "sport" that she has stuck with. Master Nam isn't an everyone gets a trophy type of instructor either. I've seen him take stars away from children who aren't paying attention or not trying very hard. They have to earn them back and I feel that is very important. The moment I saw that happen, I knew this was a good place. He expects them to give their best every single class. They have great events during the year like laser tag, movie nights, summer picnics, Christmas/Holiday parties, Warriors retreat, etc. I can't make it to class often because of my work schedule, but when I'm there, I love listening to him encourage all the students (children and adult) to do their best, to respect their elders, to take pride in what they do, and to have fun along the way. I recommend anyone coming here!

Absolutely the best school and Master in the greater Outaouais, Master Mercier is a patient, understanding teacher and will take the time to show you the right way to perfect your techniques and sparring capabilities. I highly recommend. Absoluement la meilleur école de Taekwondo en Outaouais, Maitre Mercier est patient et compréhensif aux différents besoins de ces étudiants. il prend le temps de bien montrer les différentes techniques de bases ainsi que ceux d'échanges de combats. Très recommendé à tous ceux et celles qui débuttent ainsi que n'importe quelle Taekwondoistes qui aimeraient revenir au sport.

This place is a rare combination. On one hand, it's a hard-core weight pit in a basement in Crafton. On the other hand, it's filled with the most no-nonsense genuine and friendly people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. The combination of a serious workout facility and a legitimately welcoming atmosphere results in a clientèle that ranges widely in demographic, fitness level, and experience, but I have never seen anyone treated with anything less than 100% respect. Pretty much the polar opposite of one of those big franchise gyms.

My son has been a part of the Canton Karate family now for about 4 years! During this time we have been shown nothing but respect, diligence, kindness, and optimism throughout this journey! Master Martin is firm yet fair with every student, and engages with each one individually, ensuring every student feels they are truly valued. This keeps them motivated to reach their full potential! I know this is true after speaking with various parents! I would definitely recommend this place for anyone, any age!!

After moving to Pittsburgh I researched martial arts studios for weeks and visited several until I found Sifu Rothrock's Kung Fu. The staff was friendly and informative, more than happy to talk and answer questions and I walked away knowing for a fact that this was where I wanted to be. Me and my best friend took the three introductory classes and immediately signed on for a year of training and I've never regretted it. The instructors are knowledgeable and helpful, keeping the whole class moving along while still finding time for individual instruction throughout. They don't just stop being friendly once they have your money either. Every day when I get to the studio I'm greeted by name with a smile and the instructors are happy to talk after class as well.

Excellent instructors, no egos, male and females welcome. I love to far away to keep going. :(
