These people don't seem to understand that ALL THEIR CLIENTS ARE SENIORS. They don't even have the decency TO CALL YOU TO WARN YOU WHEN NO ONE IS COMING WHEN SOMEONE IS SCHEDULED TO COME. Disgustingly arrogant. Don't bother putting your loved one in their hands. Natalie in Alliston

Great Facility in a Wonderful Location!

The Right at Home franchise is amazing (as I have dealt with multiple locations), but the Barrie branch is particularly great. You can tell that the owners care and have such a passion for what they do which gets instilled in their employees. Truly a great place

August 23, 2018 I received a call from a male at Bayshore advising that the following morning there would be no PSW to get my mother up for changing, toileting, and dressing her and getting her into her wheelchair and taking her down for breakfast in the dining room at Riverview Terrace. When I expressed my concern about this I was told the family would need to do this. Let me just say that if the family was able to do this our mom would be at home and not in a retirement/nursing home. Our family pays for enhanced care for my mom as she cannot walk, dress herself or stand by herself. The man called 16 families at Riverview who would be affected by this PSW shortage but did not feel it necessary to contact the retirement home and they learned about it that evening when families like myself were calling them. Bayshore was called by me that same evening but the dispatcher was unwilling to provide the name of the manager that I would need to speak to about my concern. She would only provide me the woman's first name and kept saying she would let her know I had called. I had to insist several times that I wanted the manager to call me. This lack of transparency about providing a manager's name is troublesome. The staff at Riverview agreed to try and provide the care for my mom the following morning. I waited until almost noon the next day with no call from the Bayshore manager so I calked and was told that she was in but she did not answer her phone so I was forced to leave a message. I left a detailed message about my concerns and requested she ca me back so that the problem could be addressed. She did not call me back so on Monday I will be calling her again. Bayshore service has been problematic at this retirement home. My mom has only been there 7 weeks and already I have encountered a number of times, particularly on weekends where there is a shortage of PSWs and some are forced to work 16 hour days on their own looking after more than a dozen of vulnerable elderly people. The lack of responsiveness to a concern communicated to them is most worrisome. Leaving residents and staff without contracted services is unacceptable at best and shows a lack of accountability and suggests that Bayshore is likely not a good employer who can attract and retain staff in sufficient numbers to account for anticipated employee absenteeism. I would not recommend this health care provider from what I have observed.

I am very happy with the care that my wonderfull and deserving Mom is getting at Woods Park in Barrie ....she has Dementia and is non communicative so i rely on my observation of her care ....she is always clean and well groomed and her room is clean and tidy as.well .....her care is labour intensive and i appreciate the attention she gets especially after the last few.years of pandemic and labour challenges.....it is a smaller Long Term Care Facility and for that i am thankfull for a warmer environment for us all ! Thankyou to you all from Mom June and me !

I really love my life here. I run the tuck shop twice a week and I am honored to do so. I welcome new friends and visitors, please come and say hi.

The process is broken, family member needs to be home, doctors and nurses recommend it. The associate that came out declared family member denied crisis, since when do Doctors who are trained in senior care not listened to. An employee of this organization has the right to deny a senior.

My grandmother was here in her twilight years. Friends, family and community members all around. The staff here had went over and above caring for her.

What a lovely facility. Would highly recommend renting their event room!
