I've taken my dog to Cambie Animal Hospital for the last 7 years, and they have always been welcoming, polite, and professional. Our dog has certain issues that need to be worked around, and they've always been understanding and accommodating. The people there are very caring, and you can tell that they really love animals. I've been extremely happy and satisfied with the care we have received there, and I recommend this place to all pet owners! It's also easy to park there, and there is green space outside - an added bonus!

Amazing staff, go above and beyond and truly love animals and treat you like family. Very reasonable prices too.

Phoned to see if they could help our guinea pig and they made appointment for next day which was great. Doctor was very helpful, understanding, accomodating, gentle and pleasant to deal with. He even did research before we showed up as guinea pigs are a less common pet they deal with. Would not hesitate to return.

Amazing caring compassionate staff . Especially Dr. Childs and Leni . I spayed my 10 year old chihuahua and had dental work done at the same time. They explained everything thoroughly and were very personable and kind unlike previous vets I had been too in the past. I felt at ease and completely trusted them the environment is very warm and you can tell they genuinely care about the animals. I highly recommend them they are a sigh of relief 🐾my doggie is healing up well 💜

Our dog was itchy for more than a year and a half while we worked through one elimination diet after another trying to figure out what he was allergic to. He had the chance to try the various meats of the world in this journey, which he definitely wasn't complaining about. Our local vet would prescribe Apoquel, which helped for a while, but then stopped working. We tried a saliva allergy test, but that came back saying our dog was allergic to everything except for lamb and a few vegetables. So we fed him lamb for several weeks and that didn't work. Eventually we decided he must have year round household and outdoor allergies, so we decided to try out a pet dermatologist. The first visit with this "doctor" went well, but as the visits went on and the bills kept increasing I was starting to question the effectiveness of the service. Looking back on our experience at this company here are the main reasons why I would rate them as zero stars: 1. Each visit the doctor seemed to forget the previous visit. He would prescribe doing an allergy prick test, then a blood test and then prescribe both of the same tests in a future visit. When we reminded him about the previous tests, he would say oh right, yes we don't have to do that again. Or in some cases, they would lose results and thus had to retake certain tests at our expense. 2. He would prescribe antibiotics to take care of our dog's staff infection, and in some cases there would be two kinds we had to give him at the same time. For one antibiotic he would give us a 20 day dose and the other would be a 30 day dose even though he wanted us back in 20 days. So why prescribe 10 extra days of drugs, when we could buy them on the 20 day return visit if we still needed them? 3. He kept changing his mind about what was causing the allergies. One visit he would say our dog wasn't showing certain symptoms, thus this isn't a food allergy, then the next visit he would get angry with us if we changed our dog's diet to something we knew he would love. After that he told us to put our dog on an extreme diet of just squash and beans, which our dog didn't like and he started to lose weight. 4. The costs just kept going up and up and up. There were a ton of tiny little tape tests and other tests, which increases the cost significantly. If any of this helped our dog, I would have paid whatever it takes, but the more I watched these little tests, the more frustrated I would get when many of them seemed unnecessary giving the exact same result. Obviously I'm not a doctor and thus I can't fully comment on the need for these tests, but anyone looking for a dermatologist, understand the costs that can be involved before getting into all of this. 5. There seemed to be a flippant nature to the prescription of certain drugs and even strong drugs with scary side effects without proper pre and post prescription testing to make sure there was no harm to our pet. Or in some cases, in the last two minutes of a visit he would start piling on more drugs to put into our dog. You have to put faith in their decisions, but sometimes I questioned whether they were the right ones. I was tempted a couple of times during the past two visits to just go somewhere else, but we already had an allergy serum we were administering to our dog to help reduce his environmental allergies, so we hoped it would help. Alas we won't be going back to this company and I would really caution anyone who chooses this company. I know this is just one person's opinion for one dog, and I'm sure this clinic has helped others, but for our experience it became a very negative one. Regardless of who you go to please question the decisions these "doctors" are making. They don't know your pet and ultimately can't ask an animal what's wrong. Be an advocate for your pet and do your own due diligence and question their decisions.

Our little 1 year old calico decided it was a good idea to eat a meter long piece of string while we were sleeping. We noticed something wrong and took her to the Hemlock animal hospital. They took her immediately and performed surgery. We were unsure if she was going to make it, but they did an absolute amazing job on her. She healed up so nicely. Today my other Orange tabby cat had a large abcess that ruptured. Again, took him in and they were so loving and caring in helping him feel better and stitching him up. We are so thrilled to have them as our Vet for our cats. A+service and reasonable, fair cost is hard to find; but we have it here!

We've been clients here for two years with a pretty needy kitten/cat. Our cat has stayed at the Cat's Only "hotel" twice and been seen by several of the vets for a range of reasons, from a check-up to a medical emergency. They even helped us get all of our paperwork in order to move our cat overseas. Honestly, I only have great things to say about all of the staff that work here, including (and especially) the receptionists and vet techs who have gone out of their way to make my cat and myself feel comfortable.

We happened upon VPS and Dr. Joel Parker earlier this year, and with their help, we are transforming our Practice. Using their evidence based management methods, we are rapidly evolving toward a Power Practise and a Legacy ... I love it ... should have known this 20 years ago ...

I love Ambelside Animal Hospital! Whenever I have a question regarding my cat, they are always willing to help. They have given my cat the best possible care. I would highly recommend them!

Everyone is so nice a knowledgeable. Dr. Rana is great with our puppers.

The staff and vets here are super friendly and take great care of the animals that come through. We've taken our puppy here several times for emergencies and for shots. Would highly recommend this place for your pet emergencies. That being said, every time we've been here there's been an issue with admin that we've either caught right away and had to have fixed or else something that's come up and that we've had to call back and ask to have fixed after the fact. For example, we've been billed wrongly several times, or our vaccinations paperwork and sometimes paperwork for insurance claims has had the wrong dates. They've all been relatively easy fixes and the staff are very helpful at changing things, so this is more a forewarning: if you go here, just make sure you check any paperwork you receive before you leave because it's way easier to get it fixed then and there then weeks later over the phone. We've also found that their prices are a little higher compared to other vets in the area and there can be high waiting times if you go in and there's an emergency. Still a great place!

We had a good experience here last weekend. We usually go to another vet but we could not reach them that day as it was Sunday. Everyone in the staff was nice and we received good medical attention for our pup. The only reason why I'm not giving them 5 stars is because they sent us home with a pretty inadequate size dog cone. The size was ridiculous and our dog was in agony with it. I mentioned it when we were still there and the doctor said it was absolutely the right size. I think maybe it was the only size they had left.Our dog could not see, eat or drink and her ears were squished. She had trouble even lifting her head because it was too heavy. It was pretty sad to see. We had to find a store and rush before they closed to get another option. They followed up the next day and we mentioned to them but they seemed not interested in our feedback lol. Other than that, we liked the place and the staff, everything is very clean and everyone has a good attitude. Prices are average or Maybe a little higher than average but nothing too crazy. We did find a better "cone" option which I would recommend you do the same!. Pics below

Dr Calland has been taking care of our Cats and now new kittens for over a decade and we absolutely love him and his work that he has done over the years. He added on years of lives to our first two cats by educating us on nutrition for pets and guided us in the direction we needed to go. Always educating us and loving our pets...he is like part of our family :) I would highly recommend him for any pet you have. He truly is an amazing person and Doctor.
