Just read an article my friend posted about the deplorable conditions at this place. My father had dementia and I can tell you I would never have let my father stay here. The co.olete lack of care and empathy but the staff is disgraceful. Where is the department of health investigators?

Was Satisfactory at one time but like all business, change is inevitable. Change has come to Heartland Plymouth and Its Ugly... Not about the Care anymore. Just the Dollars.... Loved One Better have Top Flight Insurance. Medicaid / Medicare Patients are not valued the same. If your Loved one has to go out to the Hospital for a few days for any reason they will give there Bed away unless of course your loved one has Top flight insurance. Upper Management has been in recent turnover leading to the constant changes in policy. Be ready for a Merry Go Round. Last thing I need right now with the declining health of my loved one is a facility that keeps reminding me that her care is secondary to there bottom line. Uggggh. Now in the search for a new facility. Be Blessed.

Three months ago, our family felt that our 94 year old mother needed a greater level of care that we could provide for her. After visiting many options in Ottawa it was clear to our family that Beacon Heights was by far the best possible 'home away from home' for our mom. True to their word, the staff ensured that the transition ran smoothly. Our mother loves the comfort and amenities, has made new friends and is already attached to the highly qualified and warm personnel. Our mother enjoys the meals, activities and elegant surroundings. We feel fortunate that she is here knowing that the level of care she needs - which varies from time to time - is flexible, responsive and so professional. Nous apprécions aussi que les services soient bilingues. Plusieurs résidents sont francophones ce qui a facilité son intégration au sein de sa nouvelle demeure. We love coming to visit too... we always feel welcome.

Beware. Sienna recently bought this residence known to the locals as Amica. Was very happy with the previous management, but Sienna is out to make money and is not concerned about the welfare of the residents.

I was there only a year, and had to move out because it was costing me more in food I had to buy, than what than they were charging me. While the workers are all qualified, many repetitive absences by certain staff members result in scheduled duties to be either delayed or not at all done. The Director is too preoccupied with "balancing the books" and forces residents to pay extra for everything and anything. Food preparation is at best "criminal" and a lot of it is wasted because it's inedible and cold when it reaches the table. Thoroughly a mess. The Director should be replaced before someone sues them for failure to provide the necessities of life.

I too have worked here in the past. The Management have no administrative skills or qualifications, budgets are beyond them, communication skills are deplorable. One does not scream or rant about family or resident moments after they have left, nor do them scream or shout at their staff in public. Workloads are uneven, expectations are not reasonable. Registered staff are at risk to lose their license in this place. We are treated like waitress, not professionals this company's takes our profession back 20 years ago when when we were nursing assistants. The residents are stuck here, no input, no choice either as the price is reasonable, however, management brings in a dog, a large, middle age, previously outdoor, chained dog into this environment and expect everything to be fine... Seniors with canes, walkers and some fearful of dogs have no other choice but to put up or leave.. This is not the dogs fault it is the manager's poor judgement skills and worst communication skill most of the residents didn't even know that the dog was staying. Safety of the resident's??? I agree with the previous review get your loved ones out of here unless they are independent and can manage on their own. Medications??? Medical treatments??? Transfers of residents, most of the staff are not trained, most are kitchen staff. Likely hood of them dropping someone or letting them fall?? Elevators that do not work properly or at all ?? Call bell systems that only work in the room? No record of calls, No call system in halls, stairs, no cameras in general areas? Fire hazards?? Unsafe electrical work, GET OUT!!

My Mom is taken care of at this residence and they seem to take care of her. Food looks good. So far we are happy
