While other jewellers charged so much, and sent their jewellery to a third party, these people did everything in house. I had 3 broken necklaces and a watch that needed a new battery. I dropped it off, and picked it up in an hour for a great price. They were both friendly and helpful and I would definitely recommend them to anyone who needed anything done.

My husband and I received great service from Loretta who is knowledgeable and personable. Loretta comes from a long line of professional jewellers and is a credit to Ann Louise.

I went to Shimmer Jewellery looking for someone to repair a necklace chain that had snapped. Ed not only fixed the chain (you can't even tell it was ever broken) He polished it up, (as well as the matching bracelet) all done in a quick and timely manner for a very reasonable price. Will definitely return and would recommend to everyone! Lots of great consignment jewellery as well.

Had a very negative experience with another jeweller that gave me a custom made ring that had blemishes and pock marks, and who told me they could not fix it. I took it in to Old N Gold and was immediately told that there was no reason it shouldn't or couldn't be flawless. A mere 40$ restored my ring to perfection. They were very friendly and prompt. This store has the most beautiful designs of any store I've been to. I still can not believe that they make everything right there in the store. It's amazing to be able to see the art being made!

In the summer of 2013, my fiancé told me he wanted to buy me a ring. I knew immediately that I wanted Melissa Caron to design one for us. I had walked past her wee shop many times and fallen in love with her whimsical, exquisite jewellery. There were two rings she had made that we particularly loved, and so we decided to combine our favourite elements of the two into a single design. The process was totally collaborative from the initial consultation and sketches, through the choosing of the stone, to the final fitting. Melissa made the whole experience a joy, and was as excited by the finished piece as we were! What's more, her prices are very reasonable, especially considering the time and effort that she puts into each design. My Father a couple years ago I believe it was 4 years ago recommended me to go take a look at AAA stamp and coin jewellery. I had called ahead of time to make an appointment with Dee, and was very happy with my visit. Dee had taken the time to organize her many rings in stock and my fiance and mother as well took our time looking through, finally deciding on a beautiful solitaire diamond engagement ring. Dee is a gemologist so you can trust completely she knows her rings and stones for sure! My ring was flawless absolutely, no comparison to what they had offered in other stores! I also have received endless compliments on the stones quality. Dee also explained the grading and quality of stones that were used in the making of my ring. I have been in contact with her many times with Dee since our initial meetings finding the absolute perfect band to match. I have found her and her husband extremely kind and helpful with me and my many visits. Today I had been in again and chose my final bands and also my future hubbys. They are perfect in every way and so beautiful and unique (not the ones you see everyday)! I highly suggest if you are purchasing jewellery to go to AAA stamp and coin jewellery! Can't wait for another visit!

I took a beloved ring into Idar for repair and after seeing and admiring the wonderful jewellery it was decided I would have a new ring made using what was able to be saved from my own ring. I now have a calla lily ring (my hubby's favourite flower) and a friend admired it so much she now has her own ring. We compliment each other's often. Thanks to everyone who made this happen for me.

My clock chimed when it went in for cleaning ($380) and only clunked when it came out. When I took it back he flatly refused to correct the issue that he clearly caused. I was astonished. Two weeks later my clock just stopped working. There is no way I would go back. You shouldn't go there either.

Had my wedding ring and band resized here. They did a wonderful job. Very friendly owner and good prices. 😊
